Mountain fair has become a tradition for 43 years in the town of Carbondale. This Mountain Fair honors the 50th year of the signing of the Wilderness Bill. The theme is Wild At Heart: Celebrating Our People, Town, and Wilderness. This 43rd Mountain Fair will also celebrate art in all forms of expression with the fair’s diverse range of arts and crafts, non-stop entertainment, great food and an amazing spirit.
Mountain Fair is considered a highlight of the summer in Carbondale. With an open invitation, people from all over make the effort to attend. A “Family Area” includes interactive, creative experiences for children, and friendly competitions run the gamut from cake baking to wood splitting. Over 145 vendors bring their unique crafts and food to Sopris Park and 300 volunteers on hand to help, the Mountain Fair weekend will once again gather the tribes from far and wide.
World-class acts like Radio La Chusma, The Dirty Bourbon River Band, Lunar Fire, The Iguanas and more will bring dancing fans and friends.
Remember, due to such a high volume of people attending, there will be limited parking in downtown Carbondale, but don’t worry, RFTA has your covered.
If you are commuting from up or down valley, the BRT and Local buses will drop you off at the Carbondale Park & Ride then you can catch the Carbondale Circulator which will drop you off at Sopris Park.
RFTA’s Carbondale Circulator will be running its course all weekend, with no affected changes. Schedule times for the Sopris Park bus stop will run accordingly from 5:00 am to 9:30 pm.
Be aware that the last Carbondale Circulator is at 9:18 pm from Sopris Park to the Park and Ride and then the Local Valley buses will be running through downtown twice an hour.
