The Roaring Fork Valley is host to some of the most amazing recreational trails in the state of Colorado. The Rio Grande Trail has connected Glenwood to Aspen. The Crystal River Trail has opened up the rich beauty South of Carbondale. The Glenwood Canyon trail reveals the stunning secrets that lie just beneath the
busy I-70 highway in the canyon.
Today one more piece of path was added to the rich trail system of our community, the LoVa section of trail near the South Canyon exit, West of Glenwood, was opened. LoVa, the Lower Valley Trails Group, formed in 1999 from a group of citizens, public officials and business people concerned about quality of life and recreation opportunities in Garfield County. It is a non-profit, primarily volunteer, organization composed of civic and naturalist minded citizens of Garfield County grants.
LoVa’s master plan is to eventually have a paved trail stretching from West Glenwood all the way to the Mesa County line.
